The Chancellor and Founder of Gregory University Uturu,Prof Gregory Ibe has congratulated the newly elected Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly Rt.Hon.Engr.Chinedum Orji, in particular and other recently inaugurated National and State House of Assembly members.
Speaking to journalists in his country home, Amaokwe Achara Uturu, on the heels of the recent inauguration of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly and the 9th National Assembly respectively, the renowned intellectual entrepreneur enjoined legislators to join hands and work together for the good of the state.
While emphasising that the period of electioneering is over, Prof Ibe counselled national and state legislators of different political persuasions to join forces with the state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in the all important task of increasing the tempo of development in the state.
According to him, “as a crucial tier of government, posterity will continue to hold every legislator accountable for societal advancement or lack of it”.
He decried the current high level of acrimony existing among the political class and sued for peace to ‘ensure the stimulation of a development enabling environment in God’s own state’.
