The operatives of the Enugu state command of the Nigeria police force through intelligence information and partnership with the members of the public on 23rd June, 2019 nabbed two suspected notorious electric transformer vandals in the early hours of the morning on the said day.
The suspects identified as one Jude chibuoke and chigozie Egwuonwu were arrested over their alleged involvement in nefarious activities ranging from vandalization of electric transformer components such as transformer cable uprisers amongst others within Udi, Enugu state and its environs.
The duo were arrested at umumba axis of Ezeagu, Enugu state by the police operatives acting on credible intelligence gathered. The suspects were caught with the exhibits as they were trying to make their way into onitsha probably to sell their loot.
According to Enugu state police command, “further intelligence gathered revealed that one of the suspects Jude Chibuoke is a notorious electric transformer vandal who specializes on targeting isolated community transformer without power supply and vandalizing their components and uprisers and taken same to his standby buyers just as chigozie Egwuonwu assist and conveys him and and the exhibits with motorcycle.
“The state commissioner of police suleiman Balarabe has directed for a full scale investigations into the unfortunate incident with a view to unmasking more suspects involved in the alleged unwholesome act.”
The suspects are said to be helping the operatives in their investigations.
