Earlier this morning, the convener of “revolution now”, one of the Presidential candidates in the February 23 polls, Omoyele Sowore was whisked away from his home by the operatives of Department of State Security, DSS.
His arrest is coming less than 48 hours to his planned Nationwide protest which he threatened will shutdown the nation over the poor state of affairs in the country.
Reacting to this, what many Nigerians call “ugly development,” former Minister of aviation and a chieftain of the PDP, Chief Fani Kayode described the arrest of Sowore as; “uncharitable, unkind, unecessary, uncalled for, unsustainable, indefensible and regrettable.”
Writing via his twitter handle on the development, Chief Kayode condemned the action of the security operatives and called for immediate release of the Sahara Reporters publisher.
“I condemn this fascistic and Gestapo-like action by the DSS against him and I call for his immediate and unconditional release.”
