ENUGU— The Enugu State Police Command on Friday said it has commenced full scale investigations into the alleged murder of a 400 level student of Public Administration of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) by his colleague who is in 200 level in the same institution.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amarizu, the suspect, Asogwa Nnamdi, allegedly struck at the back of the deceased, Chukwudi Mba with a knife over issues that is yet to be ascertained.
“it was gathered that on that fateful day 31/7/19, the suspect later identified as one Asogwa Nnamdi alias Tiny of about 23 years and said to be a 200 level student of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, stabbed one Chukwudi Mba, said to be a 400 level student of Public Administration of University of Nigeria Nsukka, to death.
“He allegedly struck on the back of the victim with a knife at their lodge identified as Alfred’s Lodge, Nsukka over a yet-to-be established issue/issues.
“It was further gathered that following the incident, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was later confirmed dead,” Amarizu stated.
The statement added that “the State Commissioner of Police, Suleiman Balarabe has directed for a full scale investigations just as the suspect is helping the operatives in their investigations. The dead body of the deceased has been deposited in a nearby hospital mortuary.”
