ENUGU— Ahead of the national flag-off of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, in Enugu, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the matchmakers consult and the owners of Nigeria Pitch Award, Shina Philips has applauded the efforts of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu for coming up with the initiative.
Philips made this known during a recent courtesy visit to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu to associate matchmakers consult with the laudable project of the police boss.
According to him, “this project of the IGP is laudable and it is in line with the standard of international best practices given that it is very proactive in nature.
“I’m here to formally register the partnership of Matchmakers Consult and to commend the IGP on this laudable initiative. We will continue to support this laudable project and by his grace, we’re one of the partners of POCACOV and called on Nigerians, government agencies, corporate organizations as well as other relevant stakeholders to join hands in this nationwide campaign against cultism and other vices by throwing their support on the Nigeria Police to take this message down to the grassroots.”
Responding, the national coordinator of the POCACOV initiative, SP Ebere Amaraizu thanked him and the Matchmakers Consult for their continuous support to the project and agreeing further to partner to ensure that the awareness get to all the nooks and crannies of the country.
Amaraizu maintained that “IGP Adamu has structured the programme in such manner that it will cut across all the stakeholders and it is community driven and various tactics and strategies as contained in the IGP’s work plan will be used to commence its deployments in the thirty states of the Federation, including Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”
He added, “We shall commence immediate deployment of this all-important project after the national flag-off of the campaign by the Inspector General of Police on 29th August, 2019 in Enugu. The flag-off preparations is on and the Nigeria Policing Programme (NPP) are with the Nigeria Police Force in this flag off and campaign.
“The chairman of the local organizing committee of the flag-off of POCACOV in Enugu, Solomon Akpanufot has actually put a lot of things down with his committee for a smooth flag-off. Solomon Akpanufot is the state intervention lead of the Nigeria Policing Programme(NPP) in Enugu and coordinating with the lead consultant of POCACOV, Mr. Akinola Emmanuel who also is the head of global concept resources and one of the POCACOV partnering firm.”
