Nkwubor community, in Emene, Enugu East Local government area of Enugu State is in the news following the discovery of the corpse of a yet to be identified woman which was seen floating no Nkwubor River.
This strange development is coming barely 48 hours after the Journalist101 reported that the corpse of a woman in her early 60s, Mrs Regina MBA was found in her farmland in Nchatacha, also in Emene.
It was gathered that the river in which the corpse was discovered is one of the major source of water for the residents of Nkwubor as there’s nos supply of portable water in this suburb of the state capital.
The floating dead body was discovered by the residents of the area that came to fetch water from the river on Saturday. They quickly alerted Emene police command.
The police have recovered the remains of the lady whose identity remains unknown as at press time.
Confirming the incident, the police spokesman, SP, Ebere Amaraizu who spoke to Journalist101 corespondent over the phone said “the deceased was a young woman and the command has commenced full investigation to ascertain the identity of the lady and what led to her death.
According to him, “the death could be as a result of flooding as this is rainy season and there was no report of violence In the area but the command is working very hard to establish the cause of her death and identity.”
