As Nigerians await the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, to deliver judgement on the petition filed by the Presidential Candidate of the Opposition PDP, there’s a new twist to the issue of Buhari’s qualification- which is one of the grounds upon which Atiku/PDP are seeking for the sack of President Buhari.
Buharis Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has asked Nigerians to forgive the President if he doesn’t know where his certificate is.
Alhaji Lai made this appeal when he appeared as a guest on ChannelsTv breakfast show, Sunrise Daily.
The minister who was speaking on Buhari’s certificate said; “53 years after a fellow has left secondary school, 53 years! I think we should pardon him if he doesn’t know where he kept it” (referring to Buhari’s certificate).

Recall that Atiku/PDP are in court, challenging the outcome of the February 23rd presidential election. Their two major points are;
- That they scored the highest number of lawful votes cast in the election.
- That president Buhari didn’t meet the required educational qualification to contest for the office of the President.
The tribunal has set September 13th as the date to deliver judgement on petition.
