The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Delta State capital, on Saturday nullified the election of James Manager, the lawmaker representing Delta South Senatorial district under the platform of the PDP.

Sahara Reporters reported that the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Asaba, on Saturday, September 7th, nullified the election of Senator Manager.

According to the report, the tribunal held that after looking at all arguments, it was necessary to cancel the election.

The court ordered for a fresh one within 90 days.

Manager’s sack came after the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election, Emmanuel Uduaghan, challenged his victory in a petition filed by his lawyer, Thomson Okpoko (SAN).

Uduaghan’s counsel argued that the Saturday, February 23 National Assembly elections in the Delta South Senatorial District was massively rigged. He therefore prayed the panel to cancel the election and order a fresh election.
