Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, an initiative of Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu Npm, mni aimed at sensitizing the youths against cultism, associated violence and other vices as well as saving them from their claws thereby making them better towards contributing their quota positively in the Nations’ building and growth has continued to attract well meaning individuals, cooperate organizations and government agencies.
POCACOV awareness and reaching the targeted audience has recorded yet, another milestone as the Board of the second tier league of Nigeria football the Nigeria National league(NNL) will be partnering with the project for a violent free football tournament accross the federation.
According to the National Coordinator of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) SP Ebere Amaraizu, POCACOV is using the platform of the ongoing super 4 tournament of the Nigeria national league to reach out to the teeming Nigeria youth on the dangers of cultism, substance abuse, associated violence and other vices and the need to always watch football devoid of rancor and bitterness and never to allow their emotion to cause commotion.
His words; “I thank the able chairman of the league board Hon Ofo Chidi Okenwa for the partnership and opportunity and his strong acceptance and belief in POCACOV.
“The chairman of the league board has noted the efficacy of POCACOV and its relevance to various youths programme like football events. Therefore, I thank him and appreciate his love and moves towards associating this tournament with POCACOV.
“We are using the platform to deepen Police Public Relations since POCACOV is community driven and this has made POCACOV to be all about you and you, all about POCACOV.”
Nigeria National League Super Four tournament which started at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu on 13/9/19 involving Warri Wolves fc of Delta state, Jigawa golden stars of Dutse, Adamawa United fc of yola and Akwa starlets of uyo will be rounded off on Sunday 15/9/19 with overall champion of the super four emerging.
The tournament is aimed at equipping and strenghtening the four teams with technical and tactical ability as they gain promotion into the Nigeria professional football league .
