The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has directed for the deployment of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) to Edo state as well as Lagos, Rivers and other states of the country.
IGP Adamu handed the directives to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu during the recent visit of the team to the Police boss and the Force Management Team at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to IGP, Adamu Mohammed Abubakar, “You need to commence urgent deployment of the campaign to states and also monitor the outcome for onward review in line with the international best practices.”
It would be recalled that POCACOV which is the initiative of the IGP, aimed at reducing incidences of cultism and other vices, saving youths from the claws of cultism and other vices and making our communities safe and secured was formally flagged off in Enugu on 29th August, 2019 by the Inspector General Of Police.
The POCACOV programme is community-driven and to involve all relevant stakeholders and galvanize their support to reduce the incidences of cultism and other vices in line with the tenet of community oriented policing.
