A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lamented that no one is safe in Nigeria following the abduction of Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP, Musa Rambo, the Police Area Commander in Suleja.
Rambo’s kidnap was confirmed by the Kaduna State Police Command on Sunday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, said the ACP was abducted on Saturday at about 3.30 pm on his way from a function in Kaduna State.
Sabo said on Sunday in Kaduna that the police officer’s car with registration number KRD 753 BT and his ID card were found abandoned along the road by a team of Operation Safe Heaven.
He added that the vehicle was abandoned near Kanock Bridge, a border area between Kaduna and Nasarawa States.
Reacting to the shocking news of the abduction of the high-ranking police officer, Fani-Kayode tweeted, “Musa Rambo, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, who is the Area Commander of Suleja in Niger State and his driver have been abducted by gunmen in Kaduna State.
“The kidnappers have demanded for 50 million naira.
“If an Assistant Commissioner of Police is not safe, then, who is?”
The Nigeria Police yesterday said that the Assistant Commissioner of police has been “returned unhurt” and three of the suspects involved in his kidnap arrested.
The police went on to say that the abduction of ACP, Rambo had nothing to do with his been a police officer.
