Ahead of the planned nationwide implementation/deployment of Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) which is in line with the aims and objectives of POCACOV as contained in the community oriented policing tenets, there will be one day sensitization workshop for Police Public Relation Officers on Nationwide implementation/deployment of the campaign – POCACOV.
According to the National Coordinator of POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu; “The workshop which is organized by the Nigeria Police Force in partnership with the Nigeria Policing Programme(NPP) comes up on 30th of October, 2019 beginning from 9am at the conference room of Dennis hotel wuse 2 Abuja.
“The one-day event is expected to keep participants in tune with the processes involved in the implementations and deployment of POCACOV – an initiative of the Inspector General of Police IGP, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Npm,Mni, geared towards saving our youth from the claws of cultism, associated violence, substance abuse as well as other vices.”
The programme which was nationally flagged off in Enugu on 29th of August, 2019 by the Inspector General of police Amaraizu said; “is community driven in line with the community oriented policing tenets and shall be spotlightening the dangers of cultism, substance abuse and other vices as well as their relationship with crime and galvanize stakeholders support to help reduce incidences of cultism and other vices accross the country.”
Amaraizu further explained that the police will use the campaign to increase consciousness among parents, students, youths, artisans, religious leaders, caregivers, traders, corporate organization and other relevant stakeholders on the dangers of cultism, substance abuse and other vices.
