News filtering in From Ebonyi State indicates that a Pro Biafra group came under heavy attack by armed security operatives as they were having their meeting.
The details of the attack is still sketchy but a member of the group that spoke to JOURNALIST101 confirmed that the group came under attack as they were having their meeting.
“Yes, what you heard is true, members of the IPOB were attacked in Ebonyi state today. We were having a meeting to inaugurate a chapter of IPOB and before we know what was happening, over 20 police Hilux vans stormed the area shooting on the air.
“As I’m talking to you know, a lot of people were wounded and our mothers arrested.”
When asked if anyone was killed, he said; “I can’t tell now because we are all scampering for safety but we will know shortly but I’m sure many people were wounded as I saw some of them myself.”
Also confirming the attack, the leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu writing via his twitter account said; “A combined team of security operatives invaded the venue of IPOB gathering in Ebonyi and opened fire on innocent citizens.
“Early reports indicates many are seriously injured with some in critical condition.”
