The battle for whom will represent Enugu West Senatorial Zone in the red chambers of the National Assembly has been laid to rest following the verdict of the Appeal Court on Tuesday, 29th October, 2019.
The Court of Appeal which sat in Enugu, the state capital upheld the ruling of the election petition tribunal which affirmed the election of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the Senator, representing Enugu West senatorial District.
In a unanimous decision, the Appellate Court maintained that; “This appeal is lacking in merits and thereby dismissed”.
It will be recalled that the election petition tribunal had on 9th September, 2019 upheld Ekweremadu’s election.
