The residents of Udi/Agbudu/Ozalla express has every reason to have a sigh of relief as the men of the operation puff Adder of the Udi Division of the state police command acting on a well gathered and coordinated intelligence information, in the early hours of Sunday, 17th November, 2019 engaged gang of suspected Notorious Armed Robbers that have been a thorn on the flesh of the members of the public within udi/Agbudu/Ozalla road axis of udi local government Area of Enugu state.
It was gathered that the suspected hoodlums had allegedly blocked the road with woods and other items and were already in their nefarious activity when the operatives ran into the road block mounted by the suspected hoodlums.
It was further gathered that the suspected hoodlums had engaged the operatives in a gun duel but were overpowered by the operatives who later got one of them critically wounded and he was later confirmed dead.
According to Enugu State Police Spokesman, SP, Ebere Amaraizu; “After the encounter, the other members of the gang were arrested by the operatives as they pursued them into the bush.
“The arrested members gave their names as Nweke Monday living at No 10 New Jerusalem bunker Enugu, Destiny Onwe residing at Aria road Enugu and Nweke Sunday of ugwuakpu bunker Enugu.
“The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman has directed for a full scale investigations into the incident just as suspects are now helping the operatives in their investigations” SP. Amaraizu said.
