Former President of Nigeria, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo has opened up to say that neither the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC nor the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has the solution to Nigeria’s quest for democracy.
The Former president made the declaration at Abeokuta while speaking to stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, earlier this month.
He described PDP and APC as the two leading political parties in Nigeria saying they have failed Nigeria and Nigerians in the nation’s quest for Democracy.
Describing this present administration as a failed one, Obasanjo reminded the stakeholders of how he and other patriots had formed a grassroots movement; Coalition for Nigeria Movement, CNM, in January 2018.
He said although he had quitted partisan politics since 2015, he described ADC as the only political party that will bring the desired change in Nigeria due to its people oriented ideals and assured the party of his willingness to play an advisory role as an elder statesman.
The National Chairman of the party, Chief Ralph Nwosu while appreciating those who are standing firm with the party said that there are plans in place to take the party to greater heights in the nation in the coming days.
Former Governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola congratulated those that were victorious in the last election stating that if not for the level of corruption that characterized the last elections, the Parry would have won more seats in the election.
The party had won four House of Representative seats and Nine state house of assembly seats in the last election.
