A non governmental organisation; Pure Heart Foundation based in Enugu, Nigeria has indicated its willingness and readiness to partner with Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) – an initiative of the Inspector General of police, IGP, Mohammed Abubakar ADAMU Npm,Mni.
According to the letter signed by the Executive Director, comrade Peter Edeh and presented to the National coordinator, POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu in Enug on the 22nd of November, 2019, the body is appealing for the partnership of POCACOV to assist to in their effort at conducting prize winning/scholarship quiz competition for secondary schools in Agbani Education zone of Enugu state billed for February 2020.
It is also gathered that POCACOV is to assist in the youth re-orientation, rehabilitation, leadership development education, Advocacy for tolerance, peaceful co-existence amongst others.
Pure Heart Foundation is also partnering with the Enugu State Post Primary Schools Management Board, PPSMB, with policy thrust to make secondary education the bedrock for education and development of children amongst others.
Responding, the National Coordinator POCACOV, SP Ebere Amaraizu thanked the executive director of Pure Heart Foundation and pointed out that his request is under the fourth thematic areas of POCACOV of educating relevant stakeholders such as students and students leaders, political class, traditional rulers, town union leaders, youths and their leaders, market union and their leaders amongst others on the inherent dangers of cultism and other vices and the need to say no to it and be a champion.
He assured that POCACOV will continue to partner with relevant bodies to ensure that its campaign messages gets to all the nooks and crannies of our communities.
It could be recalled that POCACOV has concluded modalities for its POCACOV campaign using quiz and debate for all the school children and in partnership with the post primary schools management board (PPSMB).
