Operatives of the Nigerian Army, Enugu Division has arrested a suspected fake soldier identified as one Madukwe obinna.
He was nabbed by the operatives on 26th of November, 2019 at Opi axis of the state and subsequently handed over to the Enugu state police command for discreet investigation on the alleged nefarious activities of the suspect.
It was further gathered that the suspect who is said to be living at Mpape area in the FCT, Abuja and a native of Ekoli Imenyi in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State was nabbed with some items vis-a-vis toy gun and jackknife with which he harasses the public as well as some items thus; military stickers/emblems, camouflage jackets as well as suspected military Identification card amongst others
The Enugu State Police Command spokesperson, SP Ebere Amaraizu said; “the suspect is now helping the operatives in their investigations as he has confessed to the fact that there was never a time he became a soldier and that he usually wear the military uniform to deceive members of the public.
“He further confessed that he gets his uniform from mammy market inside Mogadishu military cantonment in Abuja.
“The suspect also revealed that he used to be a student of Nigeria army school of technology and environmental studies markurdi where he was expelled in 2015 over an alleged exam malpractice related issues before joining pearls group of school mpape as a part time teacher in computer
“He further said that he is not a soldier but the quest to portray himself as one landed him in hot soup and however expressed regret over the incident” the terse statement by SP Amaraizu reads.
The command’s spokesperson said in conclusion, that, the state commissioner of police, CP, Ahmad Abdurrahman has directed for a full scale investigations in relation to his alleged nefarious activities .
