The Supreme Court on Monday has suspended the hearing of appeals of six governors.
The governors whose appeals were affected are Emeka Ihedioha (Imo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Simon Lalong (Plateau), and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
Others are Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano States,
The seven-man panel of justices headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Tanko Muhammad, had asked the court to rise after announcing that a member of the panel is seriously sick.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, please for court will abruptly rise because one of us is seriously sick,” the CJN said.
At about 9:02am when the Supreme Court commenced sitting, the CJN led other Justices out of the courtroom, citing “excessive noise”.
He warned that the court will not resume until the noise volume which was occasioned by mammoth crowd that struggled for standing space in the court room, was brought down.
