The Maurice Akueme Foundation (MAF) on the 13th of February, 2020, offered Scholarship to Mr. Ebeke Ifunanya Joseph (who goes by the facebook name Destiny Destino) to study Arts (sculpture) at the Yaba Polytechnic, Lagos State.
The beneficiary, Master Ebeke, is an old boy of the college of immaculate conception (CIC) Enugu and hails from Amudara village, Ochima in Igboetiti LGA of Enugu state.
Hon. Mike CJ Madu (Gburuchi) National Coordinator/Director of programmes, MAF, said the scholarship is in fulfilment of the objectives of the foundation and the gesture falls into the three pillars of the foundation- Alleviate, Palliate and Empower.
He also charged the beneficiary to make good use of the opportunity offered to him by the foundation and fulfill his life dream.
Speaking to Hon. Mike CJ Madu in his office at number 96 Zik Avenue Enugu, Mr Ebeke who couldn’t hide his joy thanked the foundation for this rare opportunity noting the he never expected this as he doesn’t know the President nor the National coordinator and doesn’t have any relationship with anyone in the foundation.
He lamented that lack of funds had hindered him from furthering his education and promised not to disappoint the foundation.
He prayed for the continued existence of the foundation and also prayed God to bless and continue to prosper the MAF President.
The recipient was also awarded the sum of N25,000 for the beautiful painting of the foundation’s President Sir Maurice Emeka Akueme which he did was showcased during the recent dedication and opening of MAF’s Head Office in Enugu.
