National chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ralph Okey Nwosu has said the party was poised and “destined to save the country” from the clutches of bad leadership she has faced overtime.
In his address during the National Executive Council, NEC, meeting, Nwosu noted that the party has adopted the policy of “radical transparency, total openness” and committed to bringing a positive change in the polity.
He said as a result, the party initiated the very first Financial Officers Quarterly Conference and a clear financial framework for running a grassroots and national political party which, according to him, forms an integral part of the ADC-DNA for building a new Nigeria nation.
According to Nwosu, “Effectiveness is desired in leadership, and efficiency is the outcome of good management. For effectiveness, efficiency and sustainable quality outcome, the ADC has adopted the policy of Radical Transparency. This is a policy of total openness in all its dealings within and without which shapes the integral aspects of the ADC DNA. Our radical transparency principle ensures that due diligence, fidelity, loyalty, focus and commitment to public good become ingrained in our minds and service culture as party members, executives and political leaders in government offices.
“In 2019, our party initiated the very first Financial Officers Quarterly Conference. This novel idea involves the Treasurers, Auditors and the Financial Secretaries of the party from the 36 states and FCT, the six zones and their National counterparts working as cohort. In conjunction with our consultants, ADC financial officers have been able to articulate for the first time in this country and possibly the continent a clear financial framework for running a grassroots and national political party.
“ADC prides itself with its strong grassroots dependency; this is well orchestrated in our budget. As a result, the party intends to set up well-furnished and people friendly offices in all the approximately 9000 wards, 774 LGAs and across the 36 states and Abuja with full compliments of staff. With about 350,000 executive officers of the party at all levels and 12,000 staff, our party will continue to showcase the best of processes and protocol. The budget covers the rents, furniture, salaries, events, publications, technology, trainings, printings and membership activities.
“By next month, we shall launch the ADC – DNA for a New Nigeria nation. I will not like to pre-empt these our essential characteristics and values. I will simply end with, A SUPER POWER NIGERIA is possible in 20years, and we have started its construction. I invite everyone across the length and breadth of this country and beyond to join us.”
