…Recovers 6 guns, 6 live cartridges, 2 tricycle (Keke), 4 motorcycles, i vehicle and N47,000
The Enugu State Police command on Wednesday, 4th March, 2020 paraded 31 criminal suspects for various crimes ranging from, cultism, armed robbery, stealing and murder committed in the state in the month under review.
Parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, CP, Ahmed Abdurrahman said: “These achievements were made possible by intelligence gathered, robust collaboration with Sister Security Agencies, effective partnership and cooperation with other relevant security stakeholders and the citizenry as well as the unalloyed loyalty, dedication and diligence of the Officers and Men of the Command.”
The CP while briefing the press at the command’s headquarter said among the suspects being paraded are 2 armed robbers; Emmanuel Johnson āMā Aged 18yrs, a native of Mgbo in Ebonyi State, but resides at No. 94, Agbani Road, Enugu State and Okoro Kingsley (also known as āGradiā), āMā, aged 22yrs, a native of Akpakwume in Udi L.G.A of Enugu State, but resides at No. 276 Onu-Asata, Ogui New Layout, Enugu State were arrested by the operatives of Uwani Police Station, on 10th February, 2020 at about 2240hrs, while on Stop and Search duty at HRC Bus-Stop, Ziks Avenue Enugu.
Items recovered from them the CP said includes: one cut-to-size English Single barrel gun loaded with one live cartridge and one Bajaj Tricycle with Reg. No. ENU 801 VM which was conveying them before were arrested.
Another suspect paraded is one Ani Chukwuemeka (also known as āChiā) āMā, aged 23yrs, of Ugbene Road, Abakpa-Nike, Enugu who’s involved in Conspiracy, murder and unlawful possession of firearms.
The Suspect is an alleged member of the deadly Black Axe cult group and on the 21st of January, 2019, the suspect and some of his members (whom had earlier been arrested and charged to court) conspired and traced one Obumneke Chikwadoto his parent’s house at Coal Camp, Enugu and beat him to pulp, not satisfied with that, they went ahead and shot him dead before his family.
Items Recovered from him includes; one pump action rifle and two locally made Pistols
Some of the Cult members already arrested and charged to cult include: Aniamalu Nnama āMā (also known as āCultureā), Agasu Chigozie āMā (also known as āSMSā) and Edeh Ifunanya āMā (also known as āAnyalaā).
