The National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and other vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu has unveiled a new programme of the campaign- Community Peace-Builders Programme stressing that it’s in line with the tenets of Community Oriented Policing and a programme of Restoration.
Amaraizu disclosed this to the newsmen at IGP MA.Adamu POCACOV Resource Centre Enugu, while giving insight on the essence of the COMMUNITY PEACEBUILDERS (CP).
According to Amaraizu; “This is a programme that is aimed at restoring the old and strong African tradition that Every Child is Everybody’s Child thereby increasing extension of consciousness whether they are your children or not.
“It will rejig the comradeship, solidarity of our strong and potent African Tradition where each and every one sees every child as everybody’s and enable the child to be fully monitored in terms of whom their friends are and relations visiting them.

Amaraizu further disclosed that; “The IGP MA Adamu Pocacov Resource Centre in collaboration with development partners are developing a training module that will run in different clusters for the stakeholders who will later be identified with Community Peacebuilders(CP).
He thanked the Executive Governor of Imo state Senator Hope Uzodinma and Former Governor of Anambra state on their demonstration of empathy and love in respect of the Mbaise Born nine year old hawker and singer Oluomachi Opara describing it as a clear example of every child is Everybody’s child and equally commended Akwa Ibom state Government for signing into law, the VAPP Act and describing it as a right step from the right direction.
“Raising a child is the collective responsibility of every member of the society and that is why the programme Community Peacebuilders, the public will be equipped to monitor a child’s attitude and behaviour and be able to apply the needed therapy.
