The four persons that were kidnapped in Enugu while returning from a burial have regained their freedom.

The four were traveling in Sienna car after attending a burial ceremony at Nsukka when the hoodlums struck and whisked them away.

The victims; Mr. Ernest Ukwu, a trader, a Catholic Reverend Sister and two others, were kidnapped Friday along the Nike/Ugwogo/Nsukka Road, on their way back to Enugu.

Their release was sequel to concerted efforts of the police and other security agencies with the active support of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi charged the security agents to ensure that the victims are found which led to a high powered manhunt for the kidnappers. This effort paid off as pursuit pressure made the kidnappers abandon their victims.

Efforts to reach the police for their reaction on the development failed.
