As part of measures aimed at deepening POCACOV activities of Advocacy, Awareness Creation/Sensitization, Mentoring and Re-Orientation in Nigeria to ensure that Children and Youths as well as other stakeholders are well sensitized for optimum result and in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing, the initiative will be embarking on a door-to-door campaign.

According to the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu, the IGP M.A Adamu POCACOV Resource Centre, Enugu, apart from the already developed grassroots camapign mechanism of bulk SMS, drama, jingles, town hall meetings, academic discuss, poetry, cartoons, literature, use of printed materials amongst others, will in addition, embark on door to door campaign in partnership with numerous stakeholders.

Amaraizu disclosed this on Tuesday, August, 25th shortly after a virtual meeting of POCACOV Stakeholders from Delta and Rivers states coordinated by the IGP M.A Adamu POCACOV Resource Centre.

The virtual meeting was held to enable POCACOV Identify and analyze the spate of cult related situations in places like Delta and Rivers states with special interest in Asaba with a view to addressing the situation through Community Policing approach.

Amaraizu further maintained that POCACOV as a community policing tool of the Nigeria Police Force, will continue to work with different stakeholders and with the use of grass root campaign mechanism as well as the use of conventional, digital media and non media in its approach and assured that the Nigeria Police Force through POCACOV is making the difference towards Community peace building, community mobilization of Youths for National Development through POCACOV VOLUNTEER CLUB (PVC) Scheme of Safer community/School partnership.

On the cult clashes recorded in Asaba, Delta state, the POCACOV Ambassador in Delta State, Amb Austyne Emuh who doubles as the president of the Anti Cult Volunteer Corps, Delta state, explained that all hands are now on deck to ensure that there is enough POCACOV Sensitization within Asaba and its environs and pointing that they are in touch with the Director General of Delta state Orientation Bureau, Barr. Eugene Uzum and other stakeholders to ensure that POCACOV message is deepened especially in Asaba, Sapele, Warri, Ughelli, Agbor, amongst others.

On his part, the Rivers state POCACOV Coordinator DSP Abdullahi Yusuf Idi, appreciated the efforts of Ambassador Austyne Emuh in Delta state and assured that he has carried out Stakeholders identifications and mapping in Rivers state to enable him comply with the POCACOV engagement using grassroots campaign mechanism.
