The All Progressives Congress, APC, Udi local government area, Enugu state chapter has suspended Chief Flavour Osita Eze, the Personal Assistant to Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of foreign affairs for various attempts to stifle the party in the area and flitering away positions meant for members of the party to his friends and concubines.
The party accused Chief, Eze of contributing immensely to the dwindling fate of the party in the last three years in the area.
In a suspension letter signed by Osita Igwe; the Chairman and all the leadership of the party structure in Udi local government, they accused Mr. Eze of hijacking the activities of Kwusike (the political family of the Hon. Minister) and distributing palliatives provided by the Minister without recourse to the party’s leadership both at local government and ward levels as well as hijacking the distribution of NDE skill acquisition and loan forms amongst others.
“Flavour Eze has officially privatized the activities of Kwusike in the guise of Kwusike foundation thereby hijacking the original structure of the political group for his selfish interest.
“He coordinated the distribution of palliative, from state to ward level without the local government executives and ward chairmen.
He hijacked the distribution NDE skill acquisition and loan form without a single input from the party faithfuls,” part of the suspension notice reads.
The party also doubted if the Minister’s immediate family at Eke has been treated fairly as they should, considering the status of their Son in the country advising him (Eze) to borrow a leaf from Osita Okechukwu, the DG of Voice of Nigeria whose charity begins at home.
Going further, the party also alleged that office of the local government party chairman in the council has been turned into a theater of war by Mr. Eze as “he’s hellbent at dismantling the existing structure and creating unnecessary chaos in Udi by shifting the responsibility of the Chairman to his former ward chairman at Udi Agbudu.”
“Our ward chairmen has been thrown into the waste bin and forgotten. some of the Kwusike members at the ward level have been thrown into confusion with the happenings in the party. The jobs that were supposed to be used to compensate and recognize party faithfuls for the efforts and dedication to the party are being used to maintain friends and concubines, while those that laboured for the party are left out.
They lamented that if the ugly situation continues; “the members of Kwusike family will have nothing to show for supporting the Hon. Minister; which will be very ridiculous as outsiders who knows nothing about how we have suffered are the ones reaping the fruits of our labour.”
The suspension notice also highlighted that the suspension of Mr. Eze was after the consultation of the party’s stakeholders, relevant authorities, the ugly report of his (Eze) suspension from his ward and following the party’s constitution by the executives of the party in Udi.
