The governor of Edo state and the candidate of the PDP that emerged victorious in the just concluded Edo gubernatorial election, Godwin Obaseki has attributed his victory to the “collective will of Edo people.”

In the final results announced on Sunday in Benin City, capital of Edo by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the incumbent governor garnered 308,125 votes against Ize-Iyamu of All Progressives Congress, who polled 223,622.

In his words, Obaseki said; “Words fail me in saluting our teeming supporters who displayed immense courage in the face of threats, intimidation and brutalization.

“The collective will of Edo people made it possible for us to triumph over godfatherism. Congratulations to all Edo people.

“This is our victory!” the Governor said.
