•Inaugurates committee for Rivers summit
The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has kicked off a one-week Peace football tournament in Elele, Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers state as part of activities mapped out to celebrate the 2020 United Nations International Day of Peace.
According to the state’ POCACOV Coordinator, DSP Abdullahi Yusuf Idi, “the POCACOV Peace football tournament is supported by A.K Stanley hence it is called POCACOV/A.K Stanley Unity and Peace football tournament Elele Rivers state designed in commomeration of the United Nation International Day of Peace taking place today.”
In a similar development, ahead of the upcoming South-South Regional POCACOV Summit in the state, a standing committee executive members from POCACOV Volunteer Clubs are now in place.
POCACOV’s national coordinator, CSP Ebere Amaraizu disclosed some members of the executive committee as: Amb. Eke Onwuka as chairman, Amb. Nelly Ani as secretary, Fubara Morgan is the public relations officer while Amb. Bulus Emmanuel will be coordinating.
Inaugurating the members on behalf of the Rivers state commissioner of police at the senior police officers’ mess Old G.R.A Portharcourt, the Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nnamdi Omoni, charged members to live up to their responsibilities and working with different stakeholders to ensure a hitch free and successful POCACOV summit to be hosted in Rivers state for the South-South zone.
