The campaign against cultism and other vices recieved a strong boost yesterday as members of the Igbo Filmakers Forum (IFF), paid a courtesy call to the office of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).
The excos and some members of the IFF Enugu Chapter led by the National President of the body, Hon. Donatus Nkemdirim aka Don Nkems paid a courtesy visit to Chief Supretendent Ebere Amaraizu, the National Coordinator of POCACOV at the IGP Adamu Resource Center.
Apart from the Chairman of IFF, other delegation includes, Amb. Vitus Ekpechi Prince; the Vice Chairman Mr. Sam Ajay; the Secretary Mrs Ngozi Eze Chima; the PRO Mr. Dennis Ezechukwu; BOT member Amb. Stanley Okoronkwo; Okeke Chukwudi and Miss Adaugo.
CSP Amaraizu enjoined the group to make movies that will uphold Igbo heritage and culture.
“The reason why cultism is prevalent is because we have allowed foreign culture to erode our values,” Amaraizu said, adding that passing the right message will help curb cultism and other vices.
The IFF Board of Trustee member Amb. Stanley Okoronkwo and a POCACOV stakeholder, present at the meeting, thanked the IGP for the POCACOV initiative and CSP Amaraizu for tirelessly driving the vision while pledging their support to the fight against cultism and other vices.
Similarly, Hon. Don Nkems, pledged to enjoin his members to shoot movies and skits in Igbo langauge to drive home the POCACOV message and also educate the masses on the need to maintain our traditional values.
He also used the opportunity to invite the Coordinator as one of the facilitators of the National summit slated for November 14 by IFF
