The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has handed over the affairs of the commission to Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Mu’azu (Retired) pending the confirmation of his re-appointment as INEC Chairman by the National Assembly.
The first 5-year tenure of the INEC Boss ended in October after his appointment in 2015.
On October 27th, President Muhammadu Buhari presented to the National Assembly for a second term in office.
Should his re-appointment be confirmed, the University Don will be at the helm of affairs for the next general election in 2023.
