According to the monarch, “having gone through the structures and presentations on the concept of the programme Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), I can clearly state that it revolves around the youth and how to save them from the claws of cultism and other vices, for a safe and secured society.
“Permit me to state here that am aware of what POCACOV is doing in Rivers state towards facilitating peace in the community through its various community driven programme and hereby commend the efforts of POCACOV.”
He maintained that he was happy to be associated with the POCACOV initiative for safer school and community and assured of his continual support with his community to POCACOV for the realization of its mandate.
Highlight of the visit was his recognition as the Grand Patron of POCACOV in Rivers State for Pocacov Volunteer Clubs (PVC) for safer school and community.
In a related development, a suspected cult member identified as one Hon. Amb. Respect Iwhiwhu, a special assistant to a House of Representative member in Delta state has renounced his membership of the cult group identified as Neo Black Movement of Nigeria, popularly known as Black Axe and has joined the campaign against cultism and other vices in the state.
This was made known today shortly after the presentation of his High Court sworn affidavit to back his renounciation from the cult group.
According to him, “many children and youths joined out of peer group influence, intimidation, ignorance, quest to be powerful and be known which eventually will not come their way rather destruction, injuries, pains, leaving in fear and lack of peace of mind.”
He appreciated the efforts of POCACOV and the Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps in Delta state and urged children and youths in the groups “to take the bold step and come out from this things that will eventually pull out regret and be a better person by cashing in on the platform provided by POCACOV and AVC.
“This is evil and I regret every bit of the things I passed through but thank God that I can now make a difference. We need to join hands to spread this message. It is a destructive element and we need to save other children and youths from the menace.
“I joined the group unknowingly when I was in Enugu through a friend whom I don’t know very well. Youth should know who is their friend and their belief before they are linked.
“As a repentant person, I will work with POCACOV to spread the message and not the virus because cultism is a virus.”
