Modalities have been intensified for the smooth conduct of the marathon walk in Nenwe in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu state with the theme “Walk Against Cultists and Crime” and other vices.

The exercise is organized by the Nenwe youths in conjunction with the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV). The walk comes up on December 31, 2020 beginning from 6am with take off point from Oriagu Nenwe to Amorji Nenwe and cutting across Agbada, Emudo and Uhueze all in Nenwe community.

Similarly, there will be a seminar and workshop by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices on 4th January, 2021 beginning from 9am local time at St. Peters Catholic Church, Nenwe bothering on youth value reorientation, engagement and strategic leadership direction.
According to the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu, “POCACOV the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu is working different stakeholders and galvanizing their support to set a positive direction for Nigerian children and youths, engendering community safety and peace and described Nenwe Youths as partners in progress.”

Amaraizu however applauded the efforts of the community and the youths from Nenwe who had visited him at the IGP M.A Adamu POCACOV Resource Centre for coming together and embracing POCACOV to campaign against this global pandemic that has eaten into the fabrics of the society.

He thanked them for identifying with POCACOV and assured them of continual collaboration towards ensuring community peace building, youth value reoientation,engagement and strategic leadership direction.

“We shall continue to make the youths to realize the potentials in them and the need to keep themselves well and to be the champion thus discouraging the use of the youths against negativistic tendencies,” he said.
