“The problem is that the youth need to discover themselves and the potentials in them because the future belongs to those who knows the beauty of it. Self Discovery activities offers platform of value reorientation, engagement and strategic leadership direction thereby discouraging their involvement in Cultism, substance/drug abuse, trafficking in persons, sexual and gender based violence, thuggery and violence and other vices which makes them not to discover themselves. It is aimed at making them come to terms with the realities on ground which will make it impossible for any person to deceive and enlist them into crime and criminality. It offers a platform for life coping skills both in artistry, craft and sports as well as other endeavours,”Amaraizu said.

Similarly, he commended the efforts of the Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons(NAPTIP), Mrs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim at ensuring robust partnership in the ongoing Campaign Against Trafficking in person and Irregular migration.

According to the National Coordinator POCACOV CSP Ebere Amaraizu, “lack of Self Discovery by some Nigerians is a catalyst to incessant irregular migration as well as trafficking in person.

“This is a growing concern and the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu has rolled out POCACOV Self-Discovery program to tap into the Public Safety and Security Framework of the Nigeria Police Force and which will help to reorient our youths on value system and make them to discover their themselves and their potentials.

The UPcoming IGP Adamu Pocacov triathion events in some cities across the country like the IGP POCACOV Marathon on plateau and IGP Adamu youth tournament across the country amongst other community policing activities are cases in point in the Self Discovery activities.
