The umbrella body of the past Student Union Leaders of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), otherwise known as IMT ALUMNI Comrades, has awarded cash scholarship to nine students studying at the tertiary institution, drawn from the three senatorial zones of Enugu state.
The exercise took place at IMT Rectory when the noble association paid a courtesy call to the Rector, Professor Augustine Nwaeze.
The Coordinator of IMT ALUMNI Comrades, Hon. (Comr). Monday Diamond Ani while making presentation on behalf of the Association, commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for rapidly transforming the academic, environmental and structural setting of the institution to a global standard.
According to Diamond, “the governor has raised the bar of IMT to a high standard. He has transformed the school academically, environmentally and structurally.
“We also commend the Governing Council under the leadership of Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo, the management of the school under Prof. Augustine Nwaeze (Rector) and the Student Union Government for working in tandem with the management of the school for the welfare of the students.
In his response, the Rector of the institution on behalf of IMT Governing Council and the management, appreciated immensely the Association for such humanitarian gesture especially as it concerns promotion of education, describing them as a visionary body with a defined mission.
The scholarship attracted the sum of thirty thousand Naira(N30,000) to each student.
