The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) has advised Nigerian Youths as well as other relevant stakeholders to reflect on the true essence of the celebration of St Valentine day which is usually marked on every 14th day of february, each year.
According to the National Coordinator, Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) CSP Ebere Amaraizu, “the true essence of the celebration of valentine’s day should revolve around expression of AGAPE Love now and beyond which also should reflect dedication, unity and oneness, sacrifice devoid of involvement in vices and sexual and gender based violence.
“It is not to serve as a period of exhibition or expression of things that revolve around all forms of vices but that which will engender a peace, genuine love, unity, sacrifice and oneness amongst others.
“St Valentine’s live was that of sacrifice and love/oneness for the progress of society and we have to reflect on this as the true essence of the celebration of St Valentines day.”
Amaraizu further advised that “the context must not be misconstrued for a prosperous society devoid of cultism and other vices. It is not supposed to reflect a period of identifying with violence but peace and Agape love which is the scriptural essence.”
