The National Coordinator of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), CSP Ebere Amaraizu has hinted that POCACOV is set to conduct its summit in all the senatorial zones in Ogun state for safer community and school.
Amaraizu disclosed this while reacting on the planned programme of action of the police campaign against cultism and other related vices for a safer community and school as well as Self Discovery.
According to him, “POCACOV being a community driven and oriented programme of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu and in line with its Public Safety and Security Framework to involve different stakeholders, shall be making use of active base, forum base and community members committee approaches to ensure that the campaign gets the desired result.
“We shall be working with our Pocacov Volunteer Clubs(PVC for safer community/school), POCACOV fan clubs, Ambassadors and NYSC/POCACOV community development service members.
“This is in line with the follow-up of activities lined up during the just concluded Ogun State POCACOV summit and launch held last year at the June 12 cultural centre, Kuto Abeokuta Ogun State.
“We are starting in March with Sagamu then Ijebuode and others and we are involving different stakeholders though with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols and that is why the activities will be based on clusters with requisite numbers of persons per clusters and observation of COVID-19 protocols.
“The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) has intensified its modalities for the first ever POCACOV International Summit/Launch in Lagos slated to take place in March. This will help to stem the tide of cultism and other Vices through stakeholders involvement and participation in line with the tenets of the community oriented policing within Lagos state and its environs.
The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) is the initiative of the Nigeria Police Force under IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu structured in line with the tenets of community oriented policing and involving different stakeholders. POCACOV is a community driven programme making use of community policing tools of advocacy, awareness creation/sensitizations, mentoring and reorientations.
