Governor of Yobe State and Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Mai Mala Buni, has officially welcomed a former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubike Ihejirika (retd.), to the ruling party.
A statement issued on Friday by the Director-General, Press and Media, Mamman Mohammed, and titled, ‘Another Big Catch for APC,’ made this known.
Ihejirika had earlier registered with the APC in Abia State.
The statement read, “Yobe State Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, today (Friday) received the former Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Oyeabo Ihejirika (retd) CFR ‘Dike Abia’ into the party.
“Gen Ihejirika was formally presented to the chairman (Buni) by the Jigawa State Governor and Chairman APC Strategy and Contact Committee, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru, and Farouk Adamu Aliyu.”
