All is now set for the kicking off of the POCACOV/Taekwondo kids grading competition in Enugu.
According to the Enugu state Chairman of the Taekwondo Association, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, “no fewer than three hundred Taekwondo kids class will compete in our Taekwondo mats for grading into white, blue, yellow belts amongst others.”
The event was slated to take place on Saturday, April 4, 2021 at the indoor sports complex hall of the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium Enugu beginning from 10am.
Amaraizu further disclosed that preparations are in top gear as Taekwondo Grand Masters and coaches from the Enugu State Taekwondo Association have been putting finishing touches on Taekwondo kiddies classes at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu.
“I can assure you that our Taekwondo kiddies class is very superb with mouth watering Taekwondo program to expose them to the tenets of Taekwondo such as discipline, perseverance, modesty, indomitable spirit, honesty, survival skills, endurance, integrity amongst others and they are the basis of the POCACOV/Taekwondo kiddies classes for children and youth value reorientation, self discovery and strategic leadership direction.
“The grading competition will bring about their movement to various Taekwondo belt cadres/categories as a mark of upliftment. The event will also feature workshops/seminars on Taekwondo as a veritable tool to attain value reorientation for a better society and which will be conducted by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) partnering with Enugu state Taekwondo Association.
“Taekwondo is life and we have to embrace it. It could be recalled that the Enugu state Taekwondo Association has an adult Taekwondo classes.
“The POCACOV Taekwondo kiddies class has become necessary in order to catch them young and using the instrumentality of Taekwondo to cut the conveyor belts and supply chain of any vices especially bad behaviours, social vices and also making them to discover themselves and potentials in them.”
