A renowned female broadcaster and a chief producer in charge of Radio Program Production with Voice of Nigeria (VON), Abiodun Bonuola, has joined the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), the community driven program of the Nigeria Police Force working with different stakeholders to mitigate the menace of cultism, substance and drug abuse, sexual and gender based violence, thuggery/violence and other vices among the youths in the society thereby saving them from their claws and dangers for a peaceful, safe and secured communities.
According to Bonuola, her desire to join POCACOV in what they are doing in the society as a community driven program of the Nigeria Police Force was anchored on the fact that from the available record, POCACOV constitute of a team of progressive people who are striving to make Nigeria and the world at large a better place for us all to actualize the dreams of a new crime free world, where men, women, youth and children are committed to live in peace and harmony due to lack of strife, jealousy, covetousness and other vices.
She maintained that as a mother with children in the tertiary institutions and very much aware of youth challenges inherent in the university and community in terms of crime, cultism and other vices and to this end will be able to bring her experience and exposure to bear in the campaign drive to make a better society.
She further added that broadcasting will serve as a veritable platform to further enhance the campaign amongst her colleagues and others who will in turn engage their wards, children as well as joining POCACOV in their ongoing door-to-door campaign, school-to-school, organization-to-organizations as well as community mobilizations and campaign under POCACOV in My Community program.
She finally commended the Nigeria Police Force for coming up with a community driven and multilateral program aware from core law enforcement to engage community members and making them to actively participate in the policing activities for a safe, peaceful and secured communities and enjoined all to join hands with POCACOV in the ongoing nationwide campaign to end cultism, substance and drug abuse, violence and other vices.
