Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami

An aspirant in the November 2021 gubernatorial race in Anambra state, Mr Afam Ezenwafor (Afamation), has chided the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, over footage and statements being circulated all over the media made before he was appointed a Minister, where he declared supports and sympathy for terrorist groups like the Al-Qaeda and Taliban.

Mr Afam expressed surprise that a person who held such belief is within the Federal Executive Council (FEC). He called on all security agencies to activate investigations on the Minister who he insisted is a security risk, given his disposition to the terrorist groups, as a head of a powerful ministry in charge of our data bank.

According to him: “This nation is faced with enormous security challenges, and with people like Pantami in very sensitive positions, we may be sitting on kegs of gunpowder. The powers and functions of Pantami’s Ministry concerning our data management cannot be overemphasized. Thus, it is dangerous to allow our NIN and BVN management to be superintended by someone who has manifest support for terrorist organisations, and was alleged recently to be placed on a Watch List by the US. Therefore, I call on Mr President to overhaul the Communication and Digital Economy Ministry for obvious reasons and allay the fears of Nigerians and the world”.

Afam reiterated the need for the youths and young people to take over and reclaim our country. He noted that most of the youths and young people are yet to develop the consciousness for political participation to liberate our people and society. He stated that the youths and young people shall take over power in Anambra State and make difference by instituting the need positive change.

Afam also noted that recent recanting statements of Pantami may be another tactical ploy to hoodwink Nigerians into acceptance, and warned that Nigerians should be careful not to be deceived by such ploys.
