The Member Representing Ezeagu Constituency at the Enugu State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze has commended the members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ezeagu local government area of the state for their continued support to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
Obieze gave the commendation at the expanded Ezeagu local government PDP Stakeholders meeting held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Aguobu Owa.
Hon. Obieze who’s also the House Committee Chairman on Works, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development enjoined the party faithfuls to continue to stand with Ugwuanyi till the end of his Administration and beyond while urging them to shun all distractions from social media propagandists. Insisting that it is in the interest of Ezeagu people to give their support to the Governor “who has done a lot for our people”.
He went further to appreciate the Deputy Governor of Enugu State, Chief Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo for her commitment towards bettering the lot of the people of Ezeagu; The Sen. Representing Enugu West, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, for the water projects and others he has attracted to Ezeagu; the member, House of Representatives Hon. Dennis Amadi for the Covid-19 Survival Loan he facilitated for some Ezeagu party sons and daughters; The Chief of Staff to Enugu State Governor for the many individuals in Ezeagu he takes care of on a monthly basis.
Hon. Obieze further appreciated the Commissioner for budget and planning, Hon. David Ugwunta, The Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora matters, Barr. Ola Ezekwu, Ezeagu Council Chairman Hon. Chukwudi Ani and the party chairman, Ozor Anayo Chiude for their efforts in strengthening the party in Ezeagu.
He pleaded with the good people of Ezeagu to continue supporting the government of Ugwuanyi without looking back and warned them to shun distractions from social media propagandists and people whose sole desire is to create division in the party in Enugu West stressing that Governor Ugwuanyi is not only the Leader of PDP in Enugu but in the entire Southeast and that Ezeagu must continue to support and stand with him till the end.
One of the highlights of the event was presentation of 5,000 naira cash gifts to various members of the party by the Lawmaker through a ballot process. He said the gesture is to thank them for their support to the Governor of Enugu state as well as encourage them to continue to support the party.
In his remark Chief Eddy Ufuanyi, a party stalwart in Ezeagu appreciated Hon. Obieze for his loyalty and Consistency in supporting the Governor saying that one of the best ways to know a good leader is to watch how much of a good follower such a person can be.
Chief Ufuanya went further to say that Hon. Obieze has been dedicated to party activities and never blinks in supporting the party in all they do. Noting that the financial stipends distributed today by Obieze at the party meeting is the first of its kind in Ezeagu and will in no small way, motivate the party faithfuls to be regular, punctual and serious with party activities, especially the monthly meetings.
Chief Ufuanya couldn’t hide his joy and thanked Hon. Obieze for offering full scholarship to his son; Olisa Ufuanya who recently got admission into the Enugu State University of Science & Technology.
Also speaking, Ezeagu PDP Chairman, Ozor Anayo Chiude who was overwhelmed with joy by the interventions of Hon. Obieze said he’s short of words thundered: “Hon. Obieze, at the appropriate, time the party will retaliate.”
Other highlight of the occasion was the presentation of gift to the local government party chairman, Ozor Anayo Chiude (Fire) by Hon. Obieze to mark his one (1) year in office.
