The lawmaker representing Ezeagu Constituency and Chairman; Works, Housing, Infrastructure and Urban Development at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Chima Obieze, have been invited to present a paper at the Future Leaders Model United Nations 2021 Summit scheduled to hold in Instabul, Turkey.
Inviting Obieze to the global summit which will last from 13th to 16th of August 2021, as speaker and guest of honour, the organizers said it took particular interest in his activeness and support for youth empowerment and development.
“We observe how active and supportive you are towards youth empowerment and development; therefore, we believe that your participation, sharing your expertise and experiences will surely enlighten the future leaders who are going to gather at this great learning platform,” the letter read.
Over 150 participants from more than 45 nations attended the inaugural edition of the Future Leaders Model United Nations Summit in Istanbul last year February before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the letter further noted.
“The participants of the event debated, negotiated and by using their exceptional diplomatic skills, drove resolutions on the global issues. The future leader’s model United Nations 2020 was honoured to welcome Counsel General Brazil as our Chief Guest, along with the official spokesperson of UNHCR Turkey, Officials from UNDP Turkey and UN Turkey Association, Former President of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, Advocate General Baluchistan, Government of Pakistan, Officials of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum who also endorsed the conference as our Guest of honours.
“This year once again, we are bringing back the same legacy which was settled like a stone last year. Promoting FLMUN Challenge by UNHCR, we present you with The Future Leader Model United Nations 2021 edition 2.0.
“At FLMUN, we will be proudly simulating the First committee of the General Assembly the United Nations (UN) Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) – World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
“Simultaneously, with the credible learning experiences, the delegates will have a chance to explore Istanbul, the historically rich city of Turkey, in our city tour, exchange and share the cultural diversity at our cultural night.
“They will also be meeting and exchanging great ideas, during our grand symposium, with Diplomats, United Nations Officials and renowned speakers,” it concluded.
