The acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba has ordered policemen not to spare any Biafra agitator or gunmen that is attacking police stations and facilities in the South-East and South-West regions.
According to reports, the IGP gave this order while addressing the Police Mobile Force and Special Tactical Squad of the Force in Enugu. Shortly after launching Operation Restore Peace, he ordered them to ensure that no Biafra agitator and gunman is spared saying they should all be exterminated.
Speaking further, he told them not to wait for any more order as the President had already ordered a shoot-on-sight on anyone carrying an AK-47 Rifle.
He said if any of them is accused of human right violation, he will always be there to handle the case as it will likely come to his table. The acting IGP told the security operatives not to mind what the media is saying but to carry out the order to the fullest.
“Don’t sit and wait for them to come; take the attack to them and don’t lose your arms to criminals,” the acting IGP was quoted as saying.
The outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra has been accused of masterminding some of the attacks on Police Stations and facilities in the South-East region. Some of the members of the Eastern Security Network has been arrested by the security operatives in the past weeks.
