The Police Campaign Agaisnt Cultism and other Vices(POCACOV) has worked out several modalities with its stakeholders to constantly engage with school children and members of the public on the dangers of cultism, substance and drug abuse, violence and other vices amongst our young minds.
This was revealed by the National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, recently ahead of the planned school engagement program tagged “YOU CAN BE A CHAMPION” being organized by Udi Youth Council(UYC) Enugu state in partnership with Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices(POCACOV) for schools within Udi Local Government Area jurisdiction.
According to Amaraizu, “the school program will feature safety and security sensitizations, secondary schools debate, secondary school quiz competition, secondary school wssay writing competition, awards to the best performed students and schools.
“It is a way of catching them young by equipping them with the relevant information which will help them to understand the realities on ground, overcome the challenges of involvement into cultism and other vices thereby cutting the supply chains and conveyor belts as well as discovering themselves as a future champions.
“We shall also use the occassion as always to make them know various carrier opportunities in the Nigeria Police Force and how to avoid bad friends and associates.
“The program will run in clusters in order to maintain strictly COVID-19 Protocols of Physical distancing amongst others.”
