One of Nigeria’s foremost banks, First Bank of Nigeria has debunked a viral report on Social Media that all its branches in the South-East have been shutdown over insecurity.

People woke up to a report all over the social media and some new media that the bank will. Be shutting down all its branches in South-East Region of Nigeria as a result of the security situation in the region.

But in a statement signed by the Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Folake Ani-Mumuney on Wednesday, the bank denied the report stating that it was fake news.

“This is to inform the public that our South East branches are fully open for business. Please disregard any news making the rounds that is contrary to this,” the statement said.
