The member representing Ezeagu constituency in Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze On Monday, distributed over 2 million naira to selected traders in his constituency.
According to the lawmaker who’s also the Chairman, House Committee on Works, Housing and Urban Development, the gesture is in commemoration of 6 years in Office of Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
At the event which took place at Ezeagu local government headquarters, Aguobu Owa, Obieze charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the little token to improve their business.
Hon. Obieze also thanked Governor Ugwuanyi immensely for his love and kindness and called on them (the beneficiary) and the entire Ezeagu people to continue praying for him (the Governor) stressing that his leadership has brought a lot of good tidings to the people of Ezeagu in particular and Enugu State in general.
In his remarks before kicking off the presentation of the cash gift, the Executive Chairman of Ezeagu local government area, Hon. Chukwudi Ani congratulated the beneficiaries for being selected and thanked the Governor for his good governance qualities which is replicated by all office holders in Enugu State.
Speaking earlier at the event, The traditional ruler of Olo, Igwe Kenmoore Chiagha In his remarks, thanked the Governor of the state for his efforts in providing adequate securities in the state which he said is as a result of the intentional efforts of the Governor.
In the same vein, HRM Igwe Raphael Okoro of Iwollo Omasi thanked the Governor of Enugu State for his leadership qualities and also thanked Rt. Hon. Chima Obieze for his unparalleled style of representation which he said has never been seen in Ezeagu.
He appealed to the beneficiaries to make adequate use of the grant and ensure they continue to grow from strength to strength.
Hon. Ndidi Obi, the SSA to the Governor on Culture and Tourism thanked Hon. Obieze for supporting the women and enjoined the beneficiaries to continue supporting him and most importantly, the Executive Governor of Enugu State.
Mrs. Valerie Malunze, the Managing Director of Enugu Marketing Company said what Obieze is doing in Ezeagu constituency is worthy of emulation and thanked the Governor for giving the youths the platform to excel in politics.
Some of the beneficiaries that spoke to our correspondent expressed their happiness for the gesture and thanked the lawmaker and Governor Ugwuanyi for always having their interest at heart.
