The three Presidential candidates of the botched Election of the Student Union Government of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu; comrades Dominic Godson Uchechukwu, Nwamazi Joseph and Ifeanyi Aniugo have been made to sheath their swords and give room for peace in the interest of the Union.
This feat was achieved through a peaceful meeting hosted by the Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu State on Culture and Tourism, Hon Monday Diamond Ani (Odoziobodo).
Hon Ani, during the peaceful meeting, reminded the three presidential candidates that in politics; there’s no permanent friend nor foe but permanent interest and in this case, their interest should be the welfare of IMT students, and as such, advised them to understand their brotherly origin, embrace peace and unite in love in order to unanimously achieve success in school and contribute meaningfully as Leaders of tomorrow in the society.
In their reactions, comrades Dominic Godson Uchechukwu, Nwamazi Joseph and Ifeanyi Aniugo expressed so much joy and gratitude to Hon Monday Diamond Ani for displaying such rare human management and peaceful character, which has restored peace amongst them, describing him as an outstanding youth leader with much enviable attributes.
The trio also resolved to jointly host a Student Leadership Program in IMT so as to let the students and youthful public understand that they are now back as brothers and good friends, because politics is not a do or die affair and that love, peace and unity breeds progress in any society.
Also, the Governor’s aide and a former president of the Student Union Government of IMT 2017/18, had a roundtable discussion with all the IMT SUG candidates on the need to have a peaceful atmosphere in the school.
While advising them, Hon Diamond reminded them that power comes from God and no matter how the event turned out, they should all see themselves as winners for mustering the courage to contest for the election in the first place and this could be a stepping stone to their future careers.
