The chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ward seven, Igbo Eze North local government area of Enugu State, Mr. Nwokedi Ugwoke has been removed from office for anti-party activities. He has been replaced by Nduka Obeta who has been sworn into office.
Swearing in the new caretaker chairman, the Igbo-Eze Caretaker Committee chairman, Mr. Desmond Ayogu also accused the ex-chairman of insubordination and gross disloyalty to the party.
He said the former chairman has been calling illegal local government chapter meetings, purporting himself to be the chairman of the party.
He also accused him (Ugwoke) of refusing to attend local government party meetings and participating in the activities of the party.
Mr. Ayogu advised the new caretaker chairman to ensure that he remains loyal to the party and mobilise party members ahead of the oncoming congresses of the party.
In his remarks, the new chairman, Mr. Obeta pledged to be loyal to constituted authorities and to uphold the party constitution in all his dealings.
He thank the party in the ward for their confidence in him and assured the party members that he shall not disappoint them.
The new chairman, Journalist101 learnt has been presented to the state caretaker committee Chairman.
When contacted, Dr. Ben Nwoye, said he has been briefed about the change of mantle and congratulated the new chairman while urging him to steer the party to victory at the coming congresses and subsequent elections.
Dr. Nwoye said he is happy that very energetic and visionary people are taking over the reigns of the party at grassroots level, adding that the APC has become the party of choice in Enugu State.
He prayed God to grant the new caretaker chairman the presence of mind and wisdom to unite the party at that level.
