The grandmother whose identity we have learnt is Queendaline Udoh, aged 61, from Imezi Owa local government area of Enugu State, and her accomplice, one Miracle Sunday Akpan, a native of Akwa Ibom State, aged 25 were today remanded at Nigerian Correctional Service Custody, Enugu.

Journalist101 had reported that the men of Ugwuagor vigilante group in Abakpa, Enugu East local government area of Enugu State arrested an aged woman for allegedly giving out her 7-year-old granddaughter to different men to sleep with.

Enugu State Police Command in a press statement, said that the duo, following the completion of the investigation by the police, were arraigned before the magistrate Court today and were subsequently, remanded in Nigerian Correctional Service Custody.

“The suspects were today, 22/06/2021, charged to Court and remanded in Nigerian Correctional Service Custody, pending further hearing of the case, following the swift concluded investigation into the case,” ASP Daniel Ndukwe, Enugu Command Public Relations Officer, said.

Ndukwe also said that the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, psc, advised parents/guardians to endeavour to train their children/wards with care, fear of God and uphold their fundamental human rights.
