Former Borno State Governor and senator representing Borno Central, Hon Kashim Shettima has debunked his death rumours amongst individuals, groups and associations in the state, which later went viral in some social media platforms, stressing that ‘he is alive, hale and hearty.
Shettima, Vanguard said lamented that, it is very unfortunate, some people who are his political enemies, chose spreading fake news that he is dead with no cause.
The senator said, although death is inevitable to mankind, it is also not proper to wish somebody dead, even if such a person is critical on his/her sickbed.
“I give thanks to Allah (God) Almighty. I am hale and hearty. There is nothing wrong with me. God has taken the glory.
“I am alive and there is nothing wrong with me.
“I am surprised with the rumour too and I don’t know where it came from. I have been receiving several calls and I want to tell people not to express worry about the rumour because I am fine and active.”
“The public and my family at large should disregard the news.” He said.
This is not the first time the news of my death has been falsely peddled, we give God the glory”. Shetimma said.
He however enjoined those behind spreading or concocting rumours of his death to desist henceforth, as according to him, it is God who give lives and take it whenever He wish, but not through fake news.
